When the day comes for Everett linebacker Mike LaRochelle to turn in his helmet and don the white coat of a pharmacist, he’ll look back on his high school days with a definite sense of accomplishment.
While he may not be the physical specimen that most colleges seek, LaRochelle has “football speed” and instincts. The 5-foot-11, 225-pound anchor of the Crimson Tide’s defense reminds his coaches of players such as Dick Butkus and Ray Nitschke.
