FOXBORO - If phone interview transcripts are to be believed, not everyone analyzing and dissecting pro football in this town understands what they’re looking at.

The latest example was a week-long tempest in a teapot regarding whether New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis stopped Randy Moss what seems like a century ago in a 16-9 upset of the Patriots in the Meadowlands.

This kind of crap is called a good sports article. I'm so sick of people dumping on Borges. This guy has been covering football longer than yoou've been alive. What kind of article this is? It is a non-generic article. This guy has earned the right to have an opinion. Although, this article really isn't opinion-it is the straight-up fact. The Patriots woould have gotten beaten by the Jets 9 out of 10 times that Sunday, Move on. I hope the Patriots remember it and come out smoking Sunday.

I can't stand Ron Borges, I used to enjoy him but I can't stand his constant negativity. However, despite my prejudice this article is spot on. He is 100% correct.

Great piece Ron! You should have done it earlier.

Ron Borges steals all of his material. This was all over football message boards twenty minutes after the Revis call. Control C.

Anyone that has played real football or Madden video game knows the difference between cover 1, cover 2, cover 3, and man under. The point is that Revis kept insisting he was \"one-on-one\" with Moss the entire game which he was not. The majority of the time he was man under with safety help shading to Moss. But Revis\' ego is too big to admit or explain this, he instead has to harass and assail a reporter who does a better job than most.

I can\'t wait to see Revis this week when Welker is actually on the field. He might actually have to really play \"one-on-one\" without a safety over the top shaded on every play. Time for talk is over.

So a micro-analysis of a "tempest in a teapot" huh, Ron? Uh, see, I'm inclined to think that your assertion that there is someone out there who hasn't "moved on" (whatever THAT means) is kinda' made up, ya' know? Hey, here's somethin' You're not gonna' believe it, but surprisingly enough, there are a lotta' really "out there" fans of professional sports franchises all over this great nation who have this strange fixation on the idea that, get this, "their team" can do no wrong. Just not altogether unique, ya' know? And by the way, your first paragraph is fraught with irony, follow?

Nashua Dan, Did you really read Ron's column or just the headline? On every man on man coverage there is a safety in the vicinity of the thrown pass. That is still considered "man on man coverage"

Revis wasn\\\'t the one talking. He shut down Moss, SO WHAT. He didn\\\'t run his mouth, he responded to Moss\\\'s big mouth. Revis got the best of Moss THAT day and Moss reacted like the big baby he is. Revis was ALL over Moss ALL day and never needed help. Every play that was made was made by Revis. He ONLY got testy because he DIDN\\\'T want to talk about it UNLIKE Moss. He can be in man on man and yet STILL have a safety come over. The safety is probably going to react to the deep route. Truth be told Kerry Rhodes just got in the way on that ball that Revis picked off.
