NEW YORK — Alex Rodriguez couldn’t stop smiling.
He was holding the World Series Commissioner’s Trophy in his hands after the Yankees’ Game 6 clincher Wednesday night. He rubbed it, he kissed it, he practically caressed it. There were real, honest tears in his eyes and nothing phony about his feelings for his teammates, from Derek Jeter to Jerry Hairston Jr.
