Most goaltenders remain anonymous only until they remove their face mask. They almost never have to wear a name tag that reads,“Hello. My name is . . .”

Kyle Richter made sure he would never reach that point by showing up at Bright Hockey Center early this summer to prepare for the 2009-2010 season. It marked the end of an awkward year for the junior, the former Ken Dryden Award winner, emblematic of the top goaltender in ECAC Div. 1, who sat out last year due to an unspecified academic issue.

I'm sure he had the grades to get into Harvard in the first place
