According to a major league source yesterday, the Red Sox have their eye on four Scott Boras clients - outfielders Matt Holliday and Rick Ankiel, left-hander Mike Gonzalez and third baseman Adrian Beltre.

The Sox consider Holliday as an alternative, albeit a more expensive one, to free agent Jason Bay should those talks fail.

If the Sox don't sign Bay, they will have to deal with Boras.

Wow, Einstein.

The Sox will have to deal with Boras if they want to sign ANY OF HIS CLIENTS.

Do you sit in front of your PC, constantly refreshing the screen, waiting for new herald articles to post so you can be first to comment?

If you're going to be first on, might-as-well have something worth writing!

Don't trust Holliday, Beltre is dreadful, why the hell would we want Ankiel? Guess we should get ready to finish second or below, city seems to like it anyways. I've actually seen a ton of wild card winner shirts this fall. Really guys?

First of all, I love how everyone rips each other apart on here. I find it hysterical. Second, I don't sit in front of a computer waiting. I can post from anywhere, anytime on my phone. Third, how 'bout those dominating Yankees!

Tell Boras to take an hike.. Openly state to every team " the red Sox have no interest in dealing with any of Boras's Clients.

That will make his clients.. Over paided Losers really Hard. Boras is scum and when the Red Sox tell him to screw.. How will he get 45 members on the yankees???

Base ball revenues are dropping and in two years the Ciontract is up with Fox.. I say paly the kids and let Boras and His Loser Clients pound sand.

Good post they should let Boras twist in the wind ,besides look up Hollidays home and away career splits down right bad how much he becomes an average player on the road.Home runs down 50% ,ba 351 vs 282 away from coors and on and on look em up.

Good to have at least one poster with a brain.
A few thoughts.............
So far we know exactly what the Red Sox want us to know.
Holliday is a marginally better all-around player than Bay and the RS like him. But I don't give him 6/120.
Beltre is arguably the best defensive 3B in the league and at Fenway would give you numbers pretty close to Lowell's and I doubt the RS have serious interest.
They are not after Ankeil.
Gonzalez would be an excellent addition, but his first priority is to land a closer job.
The RS will deal with Boras when it's in their best interests to do so. They don't have to like him. They aren't interested in personalities just improving their team.
The suggestions that they "let Boras take a hike" or "they should let Boras twist in the wind" are beyond stupid and deserve no further comment.
