Boston Red Sox [team stats] owner John Henry was willing to pony up cash to save the police’s mounted unit, but no one at City Hall seems to kn ow about the offer.
“If the Sox offered money, we don’t know anything about it,” said Dorothy Joyce, spokeswoman for Mayor Thomas M. Menino.
