The Yankees’ World Series-clinching win Wednesday night did more than add to their collection of championship trophies. It also cemented them as the team of the decade.

From 2000-09, the Yankees won two titles - matching the Red Sox’ total - while capturing two additional American League pennants.

Bud Selig boasts about parity? Yankees payroll - $200 million, Red Sox - $120 million, Phillies - $113 million. With an extra $80 million to blow, the Sox and Phillies could each add 5 all-stars to their lineups. Probably more, because they don't have Cashman making the decisions. The blowhards in NY SHOULD win every year. This is parity?

like i said plenty of times before to all u boston blowhards. the YANKEES are the team of the decade. now u hear it from YOUR OWN NEWSPAPER boston. stop complaining about payroll. when u guys field a team of 40 million, to match teams like the pirates, then talk about payroll. your team's payroll is more than 3 times the pirates, so keep quiet. did the rockies cry about payroll when u guys swept them in 2007?? so don't complain. the game is played on the field, if your team wasn't good enough, it's because of the talent or desire, not how big their wallets are. if it were about payroll, the yanks would have 10 straight titles., and lastly, just as brian cashman said, u can call us what u want with our payroll, but you have to call us WORLD CHAMPIONS, and that\'s what the game is played for.

Really, who cares, I don't. The whole system is broken. The Pirates sell every good player to the highest bidder. The Yankees bought the ones they needed and for a while it looked like they didn't make such a good deal. But, there is not any parity as Selig calls it. There never will be as long as owners pay the outrageous salaries and make the fans pick up the tab.

GM all, The Red Sox were the first team to actually acquire a player yesterday. While there was a flurry of activity by many teams the only consumated trade was completed between the Sox and Marlins,The Marlins Traded A player that was high on potential but short on deliverance of his abilities Jeremy Hermida to the Sox for AAA reliever Hunter Jones and Low Single A pitcher Lefthander Jose Alvarez. The only other trade to have been rumored to be completed was the one between the White Sox and the Royals where the White Sox were supposedly sending the Royals Chris Getz and Josh Fields for Mark Teahan who is scheduled to make 5 million this yr in salary, that trade is in limbo as there has been no final confirmation by either team. Now on to the AFL report, The Mesa Solar Sox are now on a 2 game winning streak! The Sox beat the Peo Javalinos 8-1, of the Red Sox farm hands who played in the game both Ryan Kalish and Luis Exposito had good games, Kalish who was the Offensive Minor League player of the Year for the RSFS went 2-4 with an RBI, while Luis Exposito the young AA Catcher went 2-4 with 2 runs scored,as the season is rolling along now both players raised their batting averages yesterday as Kalish is now hitting .292 and Exposito is hitting .286..The only pitcher to toe the bump from the RSFS was Dustin Richardson the Big Lefty went 1 inning of shutout ball allowing 2 walks while striking out 2...Well folks you can expect a lot of movement from now until Spring Training...I will be at the keyboards chasing them down as fast as I can find them, as I'm sure you folks will be also.

Here's another grouping of news that I hadn't previously seen, the Sox have outrighted 3 players to AAA Fernando Cabrerra,Joey Gathright and Nick Green,I'm not sure but I think these players can refuse the assignments and declare themselves Free Agents,in other Free agent news 3 more Red sox players have officially filed the paperwork declaring themselves to be free agents: Jason Bay,Billy Wagner and Rocco Baldelli, with Jason Bays announced status the Red Sox now have 21 days of exclusivity in negotiating with him,Wagners 2010 option was not picked up as was agreed upon by both sides as a stipulation to his waiving his no trade clause to come to the Sox at the end of last season in a trade with the NYM's...There seems to be a real chance that the Sox will try and re-sign Baldelli according to reports..

Irishcelts1,Thanks for your appreciation.I do this to keep every Red Sox fan updated on their team,I do have too apologize as my punctuation and spelling sometimes, leaves something to be desired...Anyone who searches the sports columns as often as I do could easily do the same.Though I do derive a great deal of pleasure from being the first too find all these wonderful pieces of fresh news. If you want to check out a nice article go over to nesn.com and scroll down to the Red Sox pade on the left hand side and fing the article on the Cuban first baseman they have interest in,his name is Jose Julio Ruiz...I called him by another name earlier my bad..
