HACKENSACK, N.J. — The day before the Yankees clinched the World Series, sporting goods stores started getting shipments of championship T-shirts and hats.
So by the time the Bronx Bombers captured their 27th World Championship late Wednesday night, retailers were ready for fans eager to celebrate the Yanks’ first Series victory since 2000. Fans lined up before the stores opened to grab memorabilia, including $25 T-shirts, $30 caps and $55 hooded sweatshirts.
