Woman saves tot wandering in street
South End tragedy averted
With no thought for her own safety, a heroic mother ran into oncoming traffic Saturday in the South End to rescue a wandering toddler in a crosswalk who heartless Boston drivers had ignored.
“It was horrible. It was sickening to watch - swerving around this child like she wasn’t even human,” said assistant Suffolk District Attorney Amy McNamee, who witnessed Tammy Thompson’s act of bravery.
