Police in the U.S. Virgin Islands have reopened the investigation of a Lynnfield veterinarian and her burial has been delayed as her grief-stricken family pushes for a second autopsy, according to court filings.
A Middlesex Superior Court judge yesterday issued an order restraining Robert Harris from removing the body of his wife Dr. Joan Baruffaldi from a Somerville funeral home until Monday.

Thankfully, this family will have a chance to learn how their loved one died - and thankfully they got to a judge before the body was to be cremated as was reported earlier.
It's hard to imagine that the medical examiner on the island did anything more than a fairly simple autopsy - was he even looking for foul play ... would he have even know about the estranged relationship ... etc?
This way, they will have a second set of eyes and perhaps will be able to achieve peace if the results show nothing - or will have the evidence necessary to prove otherwise.
Again, from the picture she looked like a loving person - may God rest her soul.

I cannot imagine killing my spouse. What a stupid idiot to think he could get away with such a crime. I miss my spouse every single day and people who kill their spouses need the death penalty. I would give anything to hold my husband again, hold his hand, have a mug of tea with him.......
I had a sad moment tonight. I noticed my cat seemed lethargic and even though I am aware of everything that is going on, my first thought process was immediately "if he's like this tomorrow, I'll just call Joan". She was the kind of person who was on a first name basis with all her clients. It's just so sad. What a huge loss. After 10 years of saying I'll just call Joan..it's going to be tough for many.
