ICE: Track big’s daughter arranged sham marriage

The scion of a prominent racetrack family and a former Brockton cop were charged yesterday in federal court with arranging a sham marriage for a German national who worked at the track, according to published reports and federal authorities.

Maura Carney, 45, of Brockton and ex-Brockton police sergeant Lon Elliott, 47, were arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at their homes yesterday. They were arraigned in federal court along with Lilly Rempel-Elliot, 28, of Abington.
