Firefighter union president vows to keep up fight vs. administration
Wednesday, November 4, 2009 -
After waging a bruising, all-or-nothing campaign against Mayor Thomas M. Menino, nobody had more on the line than Boston Firefighters Local 718 president Edward Kelly, who said he’s prepared to fight four more years if he has to.
Meanwhile, as he waited for results yesterday, Kelly said, “I see Tom Menino closing neighborhood firehouses. If Menino wins, we’re going to have to focus on educating the public, trying to make our job safer. That means we’re going to have to fight the Menino administration to keep the firehouses open.”
