ShareAlmost 90,000 voters have cast their ballots today with less than two hours left in the city election - and challenger Michael Flaherty is declaring it’s a “dead heat.”
Flaherty, in an e-mail blast, says the race is too close to call - but he doesn’t back it up with any exit polls or statistics. It’s the second e-mail dump the campaign has unleased in an effort to unseat the incumbent.

LAst minute desperation in Lynn mayoral campaign. The local rag DAILYITEM who endorsed MAyor Clancy posted opposing candidate Judy Kennedy\'s picture next to story about Peabody baby killer Jennifer Ward. Mistake or on purpose? I canceled my subscription.
Is it possible to get a picture of mumbles with his mouth closed. He looks like a drooling homeless guy that happens to be wearing a suit.
The winner of this contest will have to come up with a lot of money in 2012. That is when the City of Boston pension has to be fully funded. If Menino gets reelected, will he resign for health reasons to avoid this?
I held my nose and voted for Flaherty. I just hope I haven't handed this city over to the 718ers.
