A funny thing happened on the way to Iran’s annual celebration - this year was the 30th anniversary of its takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. As usual, a pro-government crowd trooped to the site of the old embassy and dutifully chanted, “Death to America” and burned a few U.S. flags.

But their numbers were dwarfed by thousands of unruly anti-government demonstrators marching through the streets of Iran’s major cities chanting “Death to the dictator” and trampling posters of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Obama was aware of these demostrators but was unaware of the million Teapartiers in his back yard? Does pelosi think the iranians are astroturf? You couldn't make up this much hyposcrisy and sell it as fiction.

Obama did exactly the right thing: he made it clear we're paying attention to what's happening but that it's also up to the Iranians to take their future into their own hands. And it's working...Tehran is trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube by blaming it on the US, but the Iranian people have satellite dishes and the internet...they know their government is lying to them and that the US is staying out of their affairs. So the more Tehran tries to blame us for the protests, the more desperate and dishonest they look to their own people.

Oh believe me...I'm sure he's well aware of the teabaggers. But when you've got Governor Perry of Texas demanding that the President declare half the counties in his state to be Federal Disaster Areas and send millions of dollars in Federal aid in response to some flooding and fires, and then two weeks later he's screaming that the Federal government should butt out of Texas' affairs and should spend less money, what else can you do but just laugh at these people and dismiss them?

You can't reason with unreasonable people. And you shouldn't try. Just isolate and ignore them.

The behavior of the imams and mullahs in power is a reminder of the importance of the seperation of church and state. It's something else we here often take for granted.
