Yesterday Tom Menino made history. Today he needs to focus on the future - and there’s not a moment to waste.
The unprecedented fifth term he won against his toughest opponent yet ought to be not merely a cause for celebration but also a wake-up call about the changing needs of this city he will lead for four more years.

So it's finally over? Even though it was really over before it ever began! The City knew better than to elect Baby Flats. Yoon just made the water that much dirtier. They said it was time for "Change." Well, now Sammy will need all the "Change" he can scrape together. Flats will land on his feet as a lawyer living on the South Shore, but Yoon will probably be doing laundry somewhere or looking for his next City to fool? I hope 8th Flor City Hall Romano knows the Mr. Rull likes two sugars in his coffee and Maryroachcake will probably being going into relapse soon? Maybe they can all get together and form some kind of new band? And what's with Flats saying we can do it again in 4 more years? No one will even know his name in 4 years.
Here come the parking tickets ... Menino will celebrate by unleasing another 100 meter maids on the residents of boston ... and look for those increase parking ticket fines, and he will eliminate another 1,000 legal parking spaces. And thanks for the meals tax, too!
