Obama and the racial divide

Barack Obama yesterday walked right into what even he described as a firestorm over his relationship with his controversial pastor and drew his own generational line in the sand.

He acknowledged that the sermons of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright now widely posted on the Internet “rightly offend white and black alike.” He admitted that he did indeed sit through Wright sermons that “offered a profoundly distorted view of this country.
