DUDLEY - Cat ladies, take notice! It’s now illegal in Dudley to own more than three cats without getting a special license.

Town meeting voters in this central Massachusetts town Monday changed a town bylaw to make it illegal to own more than three cats without a $50 residential kennel license. The article was in response to a neighborhood feud over the 15 cats owned by Mary Ellen Richards, whose neighbor claimed her cats ruined his yard. Richards says she plans to move to a “more cat-friendly community.”

From what I heard from the radio that the law was pay a $50 'kennel' or not have more then 3 cats. The woman in question went to pay the fee and was then told her home was not 'zoned' to be a kennel. So basically what you have here is a screw job law with an arbitrary # of cats (I trust it will be all types of pets, lest there be bigoted feline-ism going on here) with a work around offer that does not work. Typical Commie Wealth B.S!!

Cats don't bother anyone. Why don't they put a limit on humans ?
