MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. — A Michigan judge says a man who claims he was chased, shot and beaten by workers at a store he’d just robbed can sue the men. But only if he comes up with $10,000 within two weeks.

Scott T. Zielinski is serving an 8-year prison sentence after being convicted of unarmed robbery for the November 2007 heist at Nick’s Party Stop in Clinton Township.

What is with some judges nowadays???

Are they retarded?

If you commit a crime then you should not be able to sue anyone if you were caught...

We need to enact legislation that will remove judges like this from the bench...we've all seen and read some of these types of rulings here in this state that some of our judges are unfit to interpret the law as written...or if they disagree with the law make their own up.

I guess Massachusetts doesn't have a lock on stupid judges. Has it even occured to either the judge or the moron that if he hadn't tried to rob the store in the first place he wouldn't have been beaten and shot? Probably not.

And how would a man, who's "job" is Robbing, come up with 10 grand?? DUH. Crime spree!
Also, please do not insult the Mentally Retarded - they know right from wrong.
Know what? Some sleazy lawyer is going to Front him Money so he can sue - Too bad the shots missed his head. Sad sad sad. Maybe the owner and the employees ought to sue him for PTSD, having to hit a man is very hard for some people. Probably gave and still does give them "issues, nightmares and physical ailments" for years.
