Peter A. Santolucito of Ashland, a self-employed painting contractor, died Monday at MetroWest Medical Center’s Framingham Union Campus after a lengthy illness. He was 48.

Born and raised in Waltham, Mr. Santolucito lived in Holliston and Wayland before moving to Ashland 10 years ago.
