MILAN — An Italian judge found 23 Americans and two Italians guilty today in the kidnapping of an Egyptian terror suspect, delivering the first legal convictions anywhere in the world against people involved in the CIA’s extraordinary renditions program.

Human rights groups hailed the decision and pressed President Barack Obama to repudiate the Bush administration’s practice of abducting terror suspects and transferring them to third countries where torture was permitted.

So the information withheld by the Italian government is substantial enough to acquit the Italians but not substantial enough to not acquit the Americans? Sounds like this is an Italian kangaroo court to me, a natural extension of their kangaroo government.

Of course we can expect the usual right wing rants that this would not have happened under Bush. Bah! They may even advocate invading Italy. Would be sheer silliness if they did not mean what they say, but they do.
