Once in a while, Mike McElhinney confides, “I’ll dream about those streets, those kids, then wake up feeling like the loneliest guy in the world, wishing I was back there.”

Tonight he’ll get that chance when that old crowd from the Roxbury prairie gathers at the Sons of Italy in Quincy for a rekindling of friendships that stretch back more than 50 years.
