Handel is rolling over in his grave. And audiences are loving it.
Boston Lyric Opera set the great composer’s “Agrippina” on its head Friday evening at the Shubert Theatre, staging a slapstick take on the seriocomic opera that nearly drowned its terrific singing and playing in a sea of sight-gags and goofy exchanges.
