FDA issues warnings to Web sites over drug sales

NEW YORK — The Food and Drug Administration says it issued 22 warning letters to Web site operators over alleged illegal sales of unapproved or misbranded drugs.

The agency says the move caps a weeklong international effort aimed at curbing illegal actions regarding medical products, including sales. In all, the FDA and its partners in the program targeted 136 Web sites that appeared to be illegally selling medical products.
